Itinerary :

We will begin our journey through one of the oldest cultural landscapes in Estonia, which is extraordinarily rich in various archaeological and historical remains and protected natural objects. You can explore a historic heritage which dates back to more than 5.000 years of human inhabitation (the Bronze and early Iron Ages) and has been preserved to date. On a territory of 5m2 there are more then 300 ancient remains - mainly stone burial mounds and indented stones.

You can also see Estonia's most ancient graves - 36 stone burial mounds from the late Bronze Era (8th-7th century BC), the highest artificial mountain of Northern Europe (relative height 115m), the highest waterfall in Estonia and the splendour of the Baltic clint. The extremities begin in "Estonian Ruhr" - a real-life underground museum which gives you a chance to visit the underground passages and get acquainted with the bone-breaking day-to-day work of a miner. In the passages you can ride a real mine-train, try the hard work of a miner and have a nutritious miner's lunch deep underground.

After the underground tour you can take part in an extreme "Villis" safari in the open part of the mine. The safari goes through the ditches and along the forest bourns. You can see the landscape of oil shale pits, introduce yourself to the details of oil shale mining in the pit, see the canyons on the road and springs emerging from beneath the ground, the world's biggest excavator "Esku" and the summit of the pit - reaching 96m above sea level and providing you with an exceptional view over Ida-Virumaa in a radius of 20km. But that is not the end of the tour yet ! Next you can put yourself to the test and try climing up a limestone wall with a 90 degree inner angle and rappel down from 25m.

Needless to say, you will again have notched up something your friends would love to hear about !
